Youth crime in school  Youth crime in school is a growing issue everywhere, affecting not just students safety but also staff members. I believe it could be one of the most dangerous places for youth now because of many factors like bullying, exposure to substance use, violence, social media/ cyberbullying, and more.  Bullying / social media / cyberbullying  Whether its online or in person, emotional or physical bullying someone can highly affect them and maybe even those around them. The long term affects from this can range from anxiety all the way to suicidal thoughts. Bullying can lead to violent confrontations in school making the environment unsafe.  On September 27th a 13 year old girl was attacked by a group of approximately 30 other kids after being lured to a beach in Kelowna expecting to hang out with one of her friends.   W hy I think crime happens Personally I think crime happens for many reasons but I like the nature vs. nurture theory, rather than viewing it as two separate causes of crime i believe it to be both. Of course there are many other reasons too that i might go into a but i personally think that theory has a lot to do with it. Both nature and nurture take roles in it, because of how someone's upbringing may be they could see an action as rational when others say its irrational. When were younger we learn our behaviors from our parents and watching how they act when were growing up, same thing goes for when we start going to school, we gain new personalities and behaviors from our friends and who we surround ourselves with. there's research on how if you hang around good people you'll deflect from deviant behavior but same with the opposite. Those who grow up in not so great circumstances usually grow up to do criminal behavior but statistically have lower chance of doing so. ...
